This morning we worked with our grade 3/4 buddies on a special writing project: welcome cards to help ease the transition for the new Legacy community students coming to P.o.W. next year. The kids did an awesome, heartfelt job! After recess we began a new round of literacy centers and guided reading, and learned how to play "Doubles Bump" in math. In the afternoon the lucky grade ones got a full hour of French computer time to finish up Iris videos! We finished the day with a fun math-art project to reinforce our doubles facts. We examined things that come in doubles, and that come in other groups (like how eggs come in a carton of twelve, tricycles have 3 wheels, etc), then began illustrating our own Doubles Bump game boards. The students had lots of creative ideas to show doubles of numbers 1-10, including words, critter legs, and ice cream scoops!

Please and Thank You
- We do have plenty of tape, elastic bands, paperclips, pipecleaners, etc. in the Idea Lab, but we would really appreciate contributions for other less common materials (including spray bottles, jars, tubes, scents, and fabrics) for our Mindfulness Museum. We will begin our prototyping in the Idea Lab on Thursday.
