This morning we edited the missing word wall words in our message and talked about how to be respectful at assemblies. The grade threes put on a meaningful assembly for Orange Shirt Day. Afterward we created visual journal pages reflecting on Orange Shirt Day, and what we would miss most if we had to leave our families for residential school. We shared a story, "When I Was Eight," about a little girl's experience at residential school. We practiced our numeral formation for two -- "to make a 2, go right around, then draw a line across the ground" -- and did math journal pages for as many ways as possible to show 2. We finished the day with a poetry party. Students took their duotangs home to share with you!
