Highlights of the Day
We began our day working with "inverse relationships" (otherwise known as 'fact families') in math, then exchanged our library books. After recess we enjoyed literacy centers, and worked on our throwing and passing football skills in Phys Ed with a new favorite game. In the afternoon we were very excited to start planting our garden! The students wrote and drew what they think they know about plants, and what they wonder. We started germinating our bean and nasturtium seeds in plastic cups, and showed predictions about what might happen to them in comic strips. We finished our day with our neighbor class sharing social stories from Ms. Purkiss about how to be a caring and responsible friend.

Volunteer Tea
Prince of Wales volunteers are out-of-this-world incredible! We are excited to thank you for all that you do with a breakfast tea, held Friday, May 13th from 8:00 - 9:15 am. We will be offering childcare at this time.
Please and Thank You / Volunteer Opportunities
We are looking for at least 1 more volunteer to accompany our full day field trip on Tuesday, May 17 to the Grain Academy and Stampede Grounds to learn about our community's rural past. We have plenty of room on the bus!
We would gratefully welcome 3 volunteers to join us on a Suburban Community Tour around our school's neighborhood on Monday, June 6.
***The grade one Urban Community Tour will be on Tuesday, June 14. This is a while away, but we are hoping for 8-10 more volunteers to make it as smooth an experience as possible. It is always a highlight for grade one students and parents, so we hope you can join us!
