What a great day we had! We had computer time in the morning to explore the new learning games on our blog's Links page. After recess we had our first round of new literacy centers, and I'm very impressed with how the students used their time! As usual, drumming was a delight! Afterward in phys ed we had way too much fun playing a Wax Museum freeze dance game, with different movement challenges (low, zig-zag, and robot-style to name a few!) and songs each round. In the afternoon the students completed their French counting videos with Mme Pallesen. We changed our home reading books in the new location in the Learning Commons, and finished our day with a guest expert visit! As we are exploring colour in science, and how to use it as designers. Our visitor, Sara, is an interior designer. She talked all about colour psychology, how she makes decisions to pair colours, and colour wheel theory. She brought cool fabric samples for us to see and touch...and brought us cookies that were all of the colour wheel colours! We got to ask her lots of questions that will help us with our ongoing colour design project.

Learning Commons Idea Lab
Our Idea Lab is taking shape and we are so very excited to see progress happening daily. We are so excited to get our kids in there and start building, exploring and designing new and innovative things that help solve real-life problems in a creative way. There is a way you can help! On the Idea Lab website, http://powidealab.weebly.com there is a new page that features “Our Wishlist”. This is a spot where you can see what we are in need of to make our Idea Lab a really cool place to learn. Please contact Mme Bergerman if you have any questions about this process or something you’d like to donate. Thanks so much for all you do for us!
