Today was the day we've all been waiting for! We traded our base ten blocks in our 100s chart place value pockets and began a packed day. We continued with our 100 Passport center activities, during which we came up in small groups to concoct our tasty 100-piece trailmix snacks. Thank you for the unbelievable variety you contributed! This was a major highlight for the kids! We got to spend time with our buddies doing collaborative story drawing (so much fun!), and did a big grade one 100 Healthy Exercises boot camp in phys ed. Ten different exercises, ten times each! Phew! In the afternoon the students worked on their orchestra families coloring in music. We finished our day creating some math art the students will get to keep and use: 100 shape placemats! The students worked hard to keep track of and add up all of their shapes (most of us used ten groups of ten shapes as an organization strategy). Thank you again for all of your help and contributions for today!
Mail Pockets
- No new notices went home today, so mail pockets remained at school.
Please and Thank You / Volunteer Opportunities
- We would love to have morning reading volunteers to share books with students one-on-one, from 8:30-9:00 any day that it works for you!
- Thank you very much for the incredible variety of 100th Day Trailmix snacks! The kids had a blast making it and snacking on it, and it helped us solidify our understanding of ten groups of ten.
- Thank you SO much for all of the help and support you consistently offer. I am amazed by (and extremely grateful for) the volunteer response we get in this classroom!
