This morning we did some feedback/workshop practice around writing. Students took turns sitting in the"author's chair," and sharing work. Their classmates offered 2 stars and a wish based on our writing bullseye targets. After, we were very motivated to write our own stories so that we could take some more turns in the author's chair! After recess we had to be flexible when we had a surprise fire drill! We were very proud of the grade ones' responsible behaviour. The students did a great job at their literacy centers, and we loved doing circus skills stations in phys ed. In the afternoon the students learned about face parts and a Christmas song in French. We worked hard on a gorgeous tints and shades winter painting to decorate our classroom. Thank you VERY much to our painting volunteers today! We finished our day with some subitizing practice and our favourite back-printing game.

Learning Commons Idea Lab
Our Idea Lab is taking shape and we are so very excited to see progress happening daily. We are so excited to get our kids in there and start building, exploring and designing new and innovative things that help solve real-life problems in a creative way. There is a way you can help! On the Idea Lab website, http://powidealab.weebly.com there is a new page that features “Our Wishlist”. This is a spot where you can see what we are in need of to make our Idea Lab a really cool place to learn. Please contact Mme Bergerman if you have any questions about this process or something you’d like to donate. Thanks so much for all you do for us!

Daily Challenge
You did such a lovely job on your tints and shades paintings! To begin, we mixed and created the "pure hue," then added black and white for tints and shades. If you could creatively name the pure hue colour you mixed, what would you call it?
