This morning we made Iris videos for our grade two teachers, helping them get to know what we love, what we are proud of, what challenges us, and what we hope and wonder. In math we combined our knowledge of 2-D shape attributes with our addition and subtraction strategies to "play" in the Shape Shop. This was a fun problem and students got creative with the shape designs they made! We went outside for phys ed again to play yesterday's Frogger teamwork game. In the afternoon the students had French, then in science we made our predictions for tomorrow's summer ridge walk and set up our observations pages. We finished our day with a visit to the lost and found (with lots of success!) and an animal-themed "Bananagrams" word puzzle.

Ridge Walk
Please come prepared for tomorrow's ridge walk (1:30) with comfortable walking shoes, and dressed for the weather. This may include a light rain jacket, sunscreen/hats and bug spray.
Year End Party
Grade ones will be having a year end celebration the afternoon of Wednesday, June 28. We will enjoy a pajama pancake picnic to celebrate all of their hard work and growth this year. Students are welcome to wear pajamas, and while we will supply the pancakes, we would gratefully welcome contributions of toppings and other supplies. This could include fruit, syrup, yogurt, butter, or chocolate chips, as well as paper plates, napkins, or cutlery. Please email Elysa or Melissa if you would like to bring something -- thank you so much for your help!
Parents volunteers are welcome to attend (please let me know if you are coming). The last half hour of our day we will revisit all of our wonderful Grade One memories with a video.
Packing Up!
Grade ones will be bringing home the majority their learning materials on Friday. Please send your child with 1-2 large, sturdy bags to carry their belongings home.
