After editing our message for all of the missing "sneaky, sly y" words, we began the day with literacy centers and guided reading. We searched for word wall words in our poem, then worked on editing and revising our sense adventure writing from yesterday with more adjectives. After gymnastics we looked at different ways we can write "one more" facts as number sentences -- both vertically and horizontally. We then played a card game to help us practice those facts. In the afternoon the students worked on action words in French, then we began our predictions about what we will observe on tomorrow's walk. We finished our day with the first new PoWer Hour session -- the students were very excited for this all day!
Friendly reminder...tomorrow is library exchange day, Fun Lunch (if you ordered), and our Winter Walk at 1:30!
Sight Words (We are working with these in our weekly poem)

Winter Walk Tomorrow:
The forecast is beautifully sunny for tomorrow's walk! We are looking forward to some fun in the snow, as well as making our seasonal observations. Please send snow pants, gloves (water resistant if possible since it's going to be slushy!), and hats. If snow pants are not an option, I recommend packing a sit-upon to make sketchbook journaling more comfortable. This can be made easily by stuffing some folded newspaper in a freezer or grocery bag. Thanks for helping your child prepare!
Gymnastics Attire
We are very excited to enjoy gymnastics for the next week! Please help your child prepare for gymnastics each day with comfy, easy-to-move-in clothing, and for safety, no long or dangly jewelry. Students remove their shoes during gymnastics -- barefoot is recommended but they can choose to keep their socks on (especially if they have an infection or warts on their feet). If students have longer hair, please have hair tied back (or send an elastic). Thanks for your help!
