This morning we shared a book by a familiar author, Steve Metzger, "The Way I Act." We began reflecting on our citizenship, personal development, and character as learners at school. We learned a fun new math game that helps us with our "ten buddy" facts. We use ten frame cards to try and find matches that equal ten. After recess we finished up our current round of literacy centers, then enjoyed some yoga cards in phys ed. In the afternoon the students worked on form (a,b,a,b) in music. We visited Ms. Purkiss in room 10 to learn about empathy, what it means, and how we practice it. After a snack and shared book, "The Little Snowflake," (by the same author as earlier!) we finished our day with our grade four buddies! We read "Gingerbread Friends," by Jan Brett, then worked with our buddies to design traps for those mischievous little gingerbread people! The students came up with some fantastically elaborate and creative plans!

Daily Challenge
We learned about empathy with Ms. Purkiss. Empathy is noticing and thinking about how other people feel. Can you think of an example of when you showed empathy for someone?
