This morning we had to edit words in our message that use 'e' in all its many different forms -- magic, squealy, on its own as a long vowel, and as a short vowel. We had our first lockdown practice this morning, and the grade ones did a phenomenal job remaining quiet and calm. In social studies we reflected in our visual journals about how we meet our needs in our community. We thought it was pretty cool to take a closer look at Calgary's Water Treatment process! After recess we went on to the next step of our shape and pattern challenge -- finding the pieces with the attributes we had planned, and eventually making as many repeating patterns as we could with those 13 pieces. In the afternoon the students learned about how many strings different instruments have in music. We showed what we know about writing numbers in a hundreds chart, then shared a poetry party before finishing the day with some tech time. We got to explore some new online colour science activities!
Have a great weekend!
Sight Words (We are working with these in our weekly poems)
