We fed this week's words to the word wall, then challenged to edit them missing from our message without the cards to help us spell! Our grade 3/4 buddies joined us for a science activity to learn about our taste buds. We predicted which mystery samples would be salty, bitter, sweet, and/or sour, then tasted them to observe and confirm. There were some surprises...like bitter unsweetened baker's chocolate! After recess grade one had a guest talk from Ms. Purkiss to learn about "speech bubble vs. thought bubble" in social situations. Since the gym was occupied with Science Fair, we had a ton of fun playing active games in our own classroom during phys ed, then continued literacy centers and guided reading. In the afternoon the students got to use the computers in French, then we colour coded the punctuation in our Man in the Moon poem. The students loved visiting the school Science Fair, then we voted as a class on our Student Choice award pick. We played Walk the Plank to practice our 'one less' math facts, then practiced for our concert.
