Firstly, I just need to tell you how wonderful your kids are. It really amazes me how enthusiastically, positively, and cooperatively these grade ones embrace challenges and are always willing to put forward their best efforts! We had fun with a Shape Shop math challenge this morning, which involved creating and sketching out a pattern block shape design, calculating its value based on shape prices, then subtracting to find our change back from $20. The students also did an excellent job observing their plants -- there were many interesting changes to sketch and write about today! They certainly earned some "pickle" time after music -- they used that time beautifully to collaboratively share books, puzzles, and even create an incredible class book. We learned a fun new game, "Lifeguard Tag," in phys ed. We finished our day with our grade 4 buddies. We shared another twisted tale, "Prairie Chicken Little," then created brainstorm maps for our own twisted tales.

No new school mail went home today.
PoWer Hour Showcase
Friday will be an opportunity to check out your child's PoWer Hour! The showcase portion will take place from 11:15 - 11:45 on Friday morning. If you have more than one child to go visit, siblings can accompany you to watch their brother or sister once you have 'checked them out' of their PoWer Hour group.
Fort McMurray Book Drive
The families of Beacon Hill School in Fort McMurray have lost everything. Their principal, Garrett Tebay and her librarian, have asked for our support. They would like to help their families rebuild their home libraries. Prince of Wales can help!! Clean out your bookshelves, order some new books from Scholastic or stop by your local bookstore. Please drop off NEW or Gently Used books at the school. Mrs. Tebay will pick them up when she is in Calgary and deliver them. Thank you for your help!
