We began our morning learning about warm and cool colours on the colour wheel, and how they contrast each other to make our artwork more interesting. We observed and drew our pumpkins, using crayons to blend warm colours for the foreground, and contrasting blended cool colours as the background. After recess we had literacy centers and learned two new pumpkin poems! We had a lot of fun playing Halloween-themed tag games in phys ed. In the afternoon the students had PoWer Hour, and then we dissected our pumpkins to scoop out and sort out the seeds. Tomorrow we will estimate and count them!
Please note that students at P.o.W. are invited to dress up for Halloween tomorrow afternoon! They can bring their costumes to change after they eat.

Volunteer Opportunities
- I am seeking morning reading volunteers for Monday through Thursday from 8:30-9:00. The students benefit so much from a little extra one-on-one reading time each week, building confidence and a love of reading! This volunteer time may also include supporting letter-sound review, as well as sharing "just right" books. If interested, please email myself ([email protected]) or Tara ([email protected]) with the weekday(s) that works best for you! Thanks very much!
Library Exchange
Wednesday is our library exchange day. Please return your books in order to take out a new one!
