Today was pretty exciting! (Our stuffies had us rather abuzz all day!) After editing our message for very wacky Wednesday spelling and backward letters, we took another look at the community we are going to design and build for the city of Calgary. We decided who will be in charge of which community building, and shared a wonderful book, "Iggy Peck the Architect" to inspire us for our next steps. After recess we had literacy centers, and school-wide "Stop, Drop, and Read" time to enjoy our books. We got to try our first netball game today in phys ed! In the afternoon we switched with Ms. Heagy's grade 3 class to do a Stop, Drop, and Read teacher read-aloud swap. In math, we worked on showing and visualizing doubles on our rekenreks, which helped us play Doubles Bump more efficiently. We finished our day continuing with our urban/rural art, and some of us finished turning them into optical illusions!

Planning for 2016-17 (School Council Meeting Thursday, April 14!)
We are just starting the process of organizing for the 2016-17 school year. This is a long process that starts with the system budget, which we received yesterday. We have worked closely as a staff to come up with some possible scenarios that we can afford given our funding and our projected student enrollment. We can have anything we want but we can’t have everything we want! At the School Council meeting Thursday, April 14 we will be sharing possible scenarios and seeking feedback about what parents value (French in Div I, Power Hour, Class Size, Maintaining straight grades (vs. blended grades), Idea Lab). If you would like to have input, please join us at the Council Meeting. Due to tight timelines this will be the only forum to provide input.
Student-Led Conferences
Student led conferences will be held on April 21 and 22.
System opens April 11th - Please use the My CBE Account to book a 15 minute interview. Plan to spend 30 minutes before or after your scheduled time with your child leading you through their learning.
April 21st 4:00pm to 8:00pm
April 22nd 8:00am to 12:30pm – No School
