This morning we did our writing sample reflecting on favourite memories of the past month. We worked hard to meet our writing target goals! After recess we used our rekenreks to "translate" numbers from ten frames and rolled dice. This helps us visualize basic facts up to ten. We are also working on visualizing and moving the beads efficiently, in groups of at least 2, to make our numbers. We had some poetry time with our two rainbow songs and worked on hunting for colour words. In phys ed we continued with our circus stations -- so fun! In the afternoon the students had PoWer Hour. Afterward we had computer time to begin learning how to type efficiently, using home row keys. You can check out our typing practice at home on this blog's links page!

Learning Commons Idea Lab
Our Idea Lab is taking shape and we are so very excited to see progress happening daily. We are so excited to get our kids in there and start building, exploring and designing new and innovative things that help solve real-life problems in a creative way. There is a way you can help! On the Idea Lab website, http://powidealab.weebly.com there is a new page that features “Our Wishlist”. This is a spot where you can see what we are in need of to make our Idea Lab a really cool place to learn. Please contact Mme Bergerman if you have any questions about this process or something you’d like to donate. Thanks so much for all you do for us!
