This morning we edited the very wacky mistakes in our message, including backward letters and sneaky capitals. We had literacy centers and guided reading, then exchanged our library books. After recess we learned how to make rekenreks -- we had a lot of fun crafting our own math tools! Thank you for your cardboard contributions and help prepping these! Indoor recess is rough on the kids, so we burned off steam in phys ed playing our favourite game, Restaurant Wars. In the afternoon the students had music, then finished their Doubles Bump gameboards. After we finished, we used them to play and practice our doubles facts. We celebrated a friend's birthday, then began learning about symmetry in art and math. This will start a doubles math art project for us tomorrow! We finished the day using our newly crafted rekenreks to visualize doubles and making ten.

Please and Thank You
- We do have plenty of tape, elastic bands, paperclips, pipecleaners, etc. in the Idea Lab, but we would really appreciate contributions for other less common materials (including spray bottles, jars, tubes, scents, and fabrics) for our Mindfulness Museum. We will begin our prototyping in the Idea Lab tomorrow!

Daily Challenge
To help us learn about doubles in math, we are creating a symmetrical art project. Symmetrical means something is the same on both sides if you were to cut it in half. What things can you think of that are symmetrical?
